What causes the difference or variance in output power with the same model?

All lasers have a variance in output power after manufacturing. This is mainly because no laser diode is exactly the same. Some will perform better than others even though the exact same parts were used during assembly.

As an example, this is why some customers who order the S3 Arcitc 1W+ may receive a unit that is actually 1.1W+ or 1.2W+.
